Outstanding leader

Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance can add Outstanding Texas Leader to his resume.

Hance was chosen as the 2010 Outstanding Texsa Leader given by the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Jan. 15. on the chamber floor of the Texas House of Representatives.

The judging panel selects each year’s winner based on proven leadership, exhibition of character and demonstration of high ethical standards.

Hance was nominated, not only for his current role, but also for his previous service as a Texas Senator, U.S. Congressman and Railroad Commissioner.
