Woman accused of beating child

MIDLAND A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with injury to a child Tuesday afternoon, accused of beating a 3-year-old child with a belt, according to a news release from the Midland County Sheriff's Office.

Daisy Flores Aranda, of 511 E. Peck Ave. in Midland County, was released from the Midland County jail after posting a $10,000 bond Wednesday.

According to the release, officers with the sheriff's office and Child Protective Services went to Aranda's home while responding to a complaint and determined she used a belt to whip the 3-year-old. The child had numerous injuries, the release stated.

The child had been removed from the home while officers arrested Aranda.
