Ector County Sheriff Deputies in West Odessa got caught in a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon that ended near the Loop 338.

Robert Daniel Hale was charged with evading in a vehicle and possession of marijuana.

Police say he was arrested for speeding away from police at the corner of 16th and Tripp streets and leading them on a chase all the way to Loop 338 in West Odessa.

According to a news release from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, authorities attempted to pull Hale over before he began speeding away.

Hale reportedly jumped out of the car at a parking lot at the intersection of 16th Street and the Loop 338 and ran into the street trying to avoid on-coming traffic.
