One applies for hospital board
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Ector County Hospital District Board of Directors will interview the only applicant for a vacancy among its ranks on Tuesday.
Ceretha Cartwright, an owner of Health Maintenance Inc., was the only person to apply for the District 5 position vacated when no one ran for the office in the May 10 election.
Cartwright ran unsuccessfully against Fred Martin for the same position in 2004. Martin received 786 votes, or 60.23 percent, while Cartwright got 519 votes, or 39.77 percent.
With no one else applying, and the deadline for applying having passed, the board need only approve Cartwright for her to join, board secretary Robin Clark said.
Cartwright is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a master's and doctorate in public health from the University of Texas.
Efforts to reach Cartwright were unsuccessful Friday.
In other action, the board will consider:
>> A transport tracking system.
>> A fire sprinkler bid approval.
>> A ground lease resolution for the property intended for an outpatient complex at Highway 191 and Faudree Road.
>> A ProCare radiology services contract.
>> A ProCare physician services agreement.
>> Naming Melissa Inge and Melanie Tavarez employees of the month.
