After the aerobatics this weekend, the Commemorative Air Force is launching a search for a new director.
After 15 years at the helm of the CAF, Bob Rice will resign as president following the annual Airsho.
“It’s been a wonderful experience for me to get to know and work with so many dedicated people,” Rice said in a news release.
On Oct. 8, Rice will assume the leadership position at the American Red Cross of the Southwest.
Rice came to the CAF in 1991 when it moved its international headquarters to Midland. Seven months later, in 1992, he assumed the president position.
Gordon Stevenson, CAF board chair, said the organization will begin a nationwide search for a replacement.
