New I-20 bridges continues construction project

The construction project on Interstate 20 opened its westbound bridge Tuesday at the East Loop 250 in Midland County, a news release stated.

Now both bridges on I-20 are open, although work on the Loop 250 interchange between the two bridges will begin once the barricades are repositioned, the release stated.

The bridge is part of a $27.7 million project that includes the I-20 eastbound bridge that opened in April, and a new East Loop 250 bridge over Business Interstate 20 that is scheduled to open once the project is completed, the release stated.

The new bridge will also bring a change in traffic patterns, and work zones and directional signs will give traffic instructions to motorists.
