Officials believe body is that of 23-year-old missing Odessan Robert C. Thornhill

After almost a month since he was reported missing, a body believed to be Robert C. Thornhill, 23, was found near Goldsmith.

Sgt. Paul Shepherd said in a news release that interviews with one of the suspects in the disappearance of Thornhill led officers to a body eight miles northwest of Goldsmith.

Shepherd said the body that is believed to be Robert Thornhill's was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday by the Ector County Medical Examiner's Office. The body will be taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

There are four suspects that the police department got arrest warrants for, but there have been no arrests as of press time Tuesday, the news release said.

Thornhill was reported missing on May 19 after his family had last seen him on May 17 in the 2700 block of Sandalwood Lane.
