    Hospital board roof repairs

    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Ector County Hospital board of directors approved spending $284,080 on roof repairs over the laboratory and dialysis section of the hospital Tuesday night.

The winning bid of $269,080 was made by Lydick-Hooks.

The estimate was increased with an architectural fee of $15,000, MCH Chief Executive Officer Bill Webster said.

Before the board voted on the repairs they took action on a resolution to support the Fifth Street Streetscape.

The project is spearheaded by the City of Odessa and Main Street Odessa in an effort to upgrade downtown. The group is trying to seek federal funding, which the resolution would support.

Board President Judy Hayes said the hospital would not be required to spend money on the resolution or the beautification.

"No dollars on our part," she said. "Just simply a resolution that ‘yes we are in favor.’ "

The hospital board acknowledged the work of two Athena Award Honorees who are both MCH employees.

Tamara Bavousett, a nurse practitioner who works with the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and Eva Ramirez a Bids and Contract Coordinator were both honored.

The board also approved the Joint Conference Committees Surgical Prophylaxis Antibiotic Guidelines and the resignations of three doctors.

After executive session the board approved a physician agreement with Dr. Getnit Aberra, who practices family medicine, and Dr. Eileen Sheridan a pediatrician who works in the hospital’s health clinic.

Webster said the board also approved two mid-level providers for urgent care.

Lastly, the board approved ProCareNighthawk Radiology Interpretation Agreement.

"Basically this radiology group provides remote radiological interpretation after hours here," Webster said.

In other action the board approved:

    >> Medical Plan Reinsurance Renewal.

    >> MediServe Agreement for Outpatient PM&R System.

    >> Risk Management System Agreement.

    >> Delta Group Core Measures System Agreement.
