Arriana's in NY
Comments 0 | Recommend 02-year-old to see doctor today about facial tumor surgery
Many people from Monahans can only dream of going to New York. But 2-year-old Arriana Juarez is already visiting the Big Apple for the second time.
But, of course, the trip is not just about enjoyment. Arriana, who suffers from a large vascular tumor on her face, visited Dr. Milton Waner for a checkup.
“He said it looks good,” Regina Bustos, Arriana’s mother said Tuesday afternoon. “She did real good."
A laser treatment was set for Sept. 28, Bustos said. On the visit after that, she’ll undergo sclerotherapy and surgery.
Bustos said the doctor is hopeful Arriana will only need three surgeries. Originally, up to six were possible.
The family planed to visit the Empire State Building before leaving Wednesday, she said.
“She’s like a grown teenager,” Bustos said of Arriana. “She’s like a grown teenager up here.”
For information on donating to a trust fund for Arriana’s medical bills at West Texas State Bank, call 943-7561.
