MIDLAND Police arrested a fourth person in connection to the fatal early Sunday shooting of Sul Ross State University running back Jermaine Swearington, according to a news release.
Miguel Chatman, 21, was found in Roby, a town 20 miles north of Sweetwater, and was charged with one count of murder. He was being held at the Fisher County jail on Friday. His bond was not yet set.
According to the release, an arrest warrant was issued for Chatman on Sunday, after the 4 a.m. shooting at Club Pleasures, 210 S. Lee Street. Swearington, 23, was shot multiple times in the torso and legs that morning after an argument outside the nightclub. He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital but later died.
Jesse James Johnson, 18, Timothy James Braziel, 21, and Melvin Lenard, 18, were arrested earlier this week and each given a murder charge in connection to the homicide. They were being held Friday at the Midland County Jail, each on a $250,000 bond.
