Greenwood Football Booster treasurer accused of taking funds
The Greenwood Football Booster Club will be looking for new money management after their 35-year-old treasurer was arrested by Midland County Sheriff's deputies on charges of dipping from the funds.
Melinda Ann Beggs, 5101 N. A St., was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Monday for theft charges of more than $1,500 and less than $20,000.
A news release from the sheriff's office said the theft occurred multiple times this year at the Community National Bank. A report was made on Aug. 15.
Beggs was released Monday from the Midland County Detention Center after Justice of the Peace George Zimmerman set her bond at $7,500.
