The Odessa Police Department now suspects that Jarrett Weaver was the shooter in what they are calling a murder-suicide that was discovered Tuesday afternoon, Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said Thursday.

Jarrett also had a warrant for his arrest for an aggravated assault charge, even though Carruth said the supposed assault did not involve Kelsi Miller Weaver.

The Weavers were found dead Tuesday afternoon in their Spanish Oaks East apartment, 4630 Oakwood Drive No. 206, when police and apartment officials entered their apartment to respond to a "check welfare" call. The apparent murder-suicide is still being investigated.
