Andrews couple found shot at home
ANDREWS An Andrews couple was found shot to death at 8 p.m. Monday at their home about two miles south of the city of Andrews in what authorities have described as a homicide-suicide or double suicide.
Kenneth Wayne Henderson was 63; his wife Mary Ann Henderson was 62.
Andrews County Deputy Eric Fowler said one gun was found at the scene, but he declined to describe what kind of gun it was or who it belonged to, citing the ongoing investigation.
Fowler said the bodies had been sent to the Permian Basin Forensic Center in Odessa for autopsies and since returned, but investigators were awaiting the results of the autopsies to make a determination on how the unattended deaths had taken place.
Andrews Police Chief Bud Jones said his department sent out their forensic unit when they received the call, but as far as he knew, Andrews police hadn’t been asked to assist in looking for a suspect. Fowler said the possibility of a double homicide hadn’t been ruled out, but there was no specific suspect wanted in relation to the case.
Kin of the Hendersons could not be reached for comment, but according to local residents, Kenneth and Mary Henderson had both been in poor health.
