Volleyball: Wink advances to Class 1A regional

FORT STOCKTON Lyndi Shackelford had 15 kills and Whitney Garland added 12 more as the Wink Lady Cats defeated Fort Hancock, 25-18, 25-11, 25-18, in a Class 1A Regional Quarterfinal playoff match Tuesday night at Fort Stockton High School.
The victory improves Wink to 32-11 on the season and sets up a match with the winner of the Petrolia-Windthorst match in one regional semifinal at 4:45 p.m. Friday at Levelland High School.
The Lady Cats played all facets of the game well as BreAnn Creech led the team with five blocks, with Taryn Curtis adding three in the victory.
Lacee Creech finished with a team-high 15 digs, with Michyla Hyde (11) and Celesta Turnbo (10) also finishing in double figures on defense.
