Wanda Jean Lyles DeLaney

ODESSA Wanda Jean Lyles DeLaney, age 78, of Odessa, Texas, passed away at Medical Center Hospital on October 15, 2009.

Wanda was born in Gaines County on August 22, 1931 to C.F. “Shank” Lyles and Johnnie R. Lyles. She was a Southern Baptist and a homemaker.

Wanda was married to Charles Neal DeLaney on April 5, 1952 in Odessa, TX. They were married for 55 years before he passed away in November 2007. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Wayne Lyles; along with her daughter-in-law, Donna DeLaney.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Neal DeLaney III of Odessa, Scott Delaney and wife Vicki of San Angelo and John DeLaney and wife Brandy of Odessa; daughter, Daina Dominguez and husband Vivian “Boy” Dominguez of Odessa. Other survivors include her favorite sister-in-law, Martha Cook and husband Cy of Portland, Oregon. She was a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren. They are John Thomas DeLaney of Odessa, Lee Harris of Rogers, Minnesota, Brandon DeLaney of San Angelo, Christopher Dominguez, Justin Dominguez, Cassidy Dominguez and Cameron Dominguez all of Odessa, and Sarah McClinton of Odessa along with John DeLaney II, and Jacob DeLaney of Odessa. She also has 8 great-grandchildren along with 6 nephews.

She will be terribly missed by her girlfriends for Thursday lunch club along with her friends at bible study.

We miss you so much already, but we know we will see you again in heaven.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Leland Maples officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
