College soccer: UTPB women put up good fight, fall to No. 19 Incarnate Word

SAN ANTONIO UTPB’s Hannah Dozier scored in the 58th minute but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Falcons fell to 19th-ranked University of the Incarnate Word 2-1 Saturday evening in a Heartland Conference contest.

Lianah Flores scored in first half for the Lady Cardinals (9-1-2 overall, 4-0 in conference), with Sarah Hernandez adding the eventual winning goal early in the second half.

UTPB (3-8, 1-4) will return to the pitch on Oct. 11 when it hosts Newman University at 1 p.m. at UTPB Field.
