Comedy erupts with mistaken identity

Poetry and prose present confusion and calamity tonight at the Globe Theatre, and with twin siblings involved, the story line leads to double trouble.

Like many of Shakespeare's comedies, the 400-year-old play "Twelfth Night" follows a path of mistaken identity and deception.
Artistic Manager Kathryn Graybill said the performance includes several humorous subplots as a man is mistaken for his twin sister, who is disguised as a man. Both think the other has drowned at sea.

"This show really digs into the nature of ‘What is identity?' " Graybill said. "I personally think that Shakespeare realized that we all have several different identities that we wear and so finding out who we are is a part of that personal journey."
The theater has scheduled six public showings of the play, with a couple of school performances throughout the week.
