Jeremy Torres

ODESSA On July 11, 2008, The Lord called our Jeremy home to rest in eternal peace. That same day he left with his Grandpa Oscar Torres Sr.


Jeremy was born to Laura Minjarez Torres and Oscar Torres Jr. on August 29, 1987. In Odessa, Texas. Jeremy attended Ireland Elementary, Nimitz Junior High and graduated from Odessa Permian in 2006. Jeremy was employed as an Authorizations representative at First American Home Buyers Protection.


Jeremy is preceded in death by his Nana, Elisa Minjarez; his great-grandparents, Nilo Minjarez Sr. Cruz and Frances Espinosa.


Jeremy is survived by his mother, Laura Minjarez Torres; and his father and stepmother, Oscar and Amalia Torres. His sisters, Jennifer Minjarez, Danielle and Ashley Torres. His stepbrother, Nathan Garcia. His grandfather, Nilo Minjarez Jr. and his grandmother, Lily Torres. His aunts and uncles, Annette Minjarez, Anthony (Angela) Minjarez, Melissa (James) Lujan and Lori (David) Castillo, all of Odessa. His great-grandmothers, Dominga Minjarez of Alpine and Manuela Lopez of Marfa. Jeremy is also survived by his first cousins whom he adored and cherished so very much: Josie, Tony, Michelle and Valerie Minjarez, Justin Torres, Jonathan Rios, Blake and Hannah Lujan, Ryan and Eric Castillo and many great aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.


A rosary service was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Odessa for Jeremy and his grandpa Oscar Torres Sr. who was with him when the Lord called them home. Funeral services for Jeremy will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday July 16, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, with burial following at Los Angeles Cemetery.


Pallbearers: Justin Torres, Jonathan Rios, Marc Chavarria, Tony Minjarez, Lino Lopez and Chris Nunez.


Honorary Pallbearers: his many friends and cousins.


Our lives changed forever when we lost our Guero and he will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you mijo and we will see you again one day. We love you Guero! Oscar Sr. we are glad Mijo was with you when God called you both home.
