UTPB announces schedule

It's story time at UTPB!

And the fall book schedule for the Falcon Fledgling's at UTPB has just been announced.

At 9 a.m. each Wednesday morning through Nov. 19, children's books will be read aloud by UTPB EC-4 teacher certification students in the library foyer on campus.

This is an opportunity for preschoolers and their parents/caregivers to spend time and read together, a news release said. And that's not all. Funding from the Abell-Hanger Foundation makes it possible for each family to take a book home each week.

The books are chosen to highlight various reading concepts such as letters, beginning sounds, rhyming and alliteration.

THE SCHEDULE

>> Sept. 10: "No David!" by David Shannon.

>> Sept. 17: "Do Like a Duck Does!" by Judy Henley.

>> Sept. 24: "We All Fall for Apples" by Emmi Merman.

>> Oct. 1: "What Will Fat Cat Sit On?" by Jan Thomas.

>> Oct. 8: "Tiger Can't Sleep" by S.J. Fore.

>> Oct. 15: "Mittens" by Lola M. Schaefer.

>> Oct. 22: "Itchy, Itchy Chickenpox" by Grace Maccarone.

>> Oct. 29: "If I Had a Dragon" by Tom & Amanda Ellery.

>> Nov. 5: "The Great Fuzz Frenzy" by Janet Stevens.

>> Nov. 12: "What Time is it, Mr. Crocodile?" by Judy Sierra.

>> Nov. 19: "Piglet and Mama" by Margaret Wild.
