Hazel A. Awbrey

ODESSA Hazel A. Awbrey, 87, of Hereford, Texas passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the Hereford Regional Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1921, in Dallas, Texas to Lela and Ernest Alcorn.

Hazel married Calvin L. Awbrey Sr., December 8, 1960, in Newhall California. She was a Mary Kay Consultant for many years in Odessa and moved to Hereford in 2000. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Hereford, Texas and former member of Terrace Hills Church of Christ and Eisenhower Church of Christ in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin L Awbery Sr.; parents, Lela and Ernest Alcorn; daughter, Jo Wright of Levelland, Texas; and two grandchildren, Prissy Wright and Kyle Forehand.
Hazel is survived by four daughters, Charlotte Rhoads of Brackettville, Texas, Barbara Holloway of Clovis, New Mexico, Kay Rhodes of Hereford, Texas and Jeanette Wristen of Grandfalls, Texas; one step-son, Calvin L. Awbrey Jr. of Monahans, Texas; 15 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa with John Gambino officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
