Support is appreciated

As U.S. citizens, it is often easy to take for granted the many luxuries and opportunities that come with living in America. We sometimes forget the many blessings that happen in our lives each and every day.

It is our proud duty as United States soldiers to defend and protect our country. However, without the caring support of our families, friends, and communities, this would not be possible.

It is important that every now and then we recognize those who have helped us on our way.

C Company 2/142 Infantry, Texas Army National Guard, would like to extend a special thank you to the people of the Midland/Odessa area, not only for the support and encouragement, but for generosity as well. We especially appreciate our local businesses and their clientele for reminding us that, regardless of background, race or political views, the people of West Texas support the troops. As soldiers we are proud to serve the country whose flag we wear on our uniforms' right shoulder. But more importantly, we are proud to serve the country whose people thank us just for wearing the uniform.
