Barbara Jordan Elementary school speech language therapist Lyn Roberts, left, receives a $250 Staples gift card from principal Jan Brown, right, Thursday afternoon. A total of 51 cards were given out as a way to help teachers not spend as much of their money purchasing supplies for their classrooms. The Ector County Independent School District also awarded the gift cards as a way to say thank you to their teachers.
