ECISD registration
Before parents prepare to bandage monkey bar wounds, ground their kids because of grades or take the car away, there are some preliminary measures they should focus on prior to the start of school.
Registration for elementary, junior high and high school students begins Monday, and there are many forms new students are required to bring to registration.
According to ECISD registration guidelines, a new student is one who's never attended ECISD, a returning ECISD student who didn't attend the 2007-'08 year or a returning ECISD student who left before the last school year ended.
New students' parents should bring the students' Social Security card, the students' birth certificate, the driver's license or photo ID of the parent or guardian registering the student and the students' current immunization record, including the date, month and year of every immunization the student received.
Furthermore, registration for new students requires their most recent report card, a withdrawal form from their old campus or transcript and a proof of residency in ECISD, such as a utility bill or a current lease agreement. Driver's licenses will not qualify as a proof of residency.
Returning students' parents must bring a photo ID and a proof of residency to registration.
Gutierrez said incoming sophomores must bring shot records and a birth certificate in addition to their parents' photo ID and proof of residency.
