BRASWELL: Will 2012 really be the end of everything?

In spite of the hype and cynicism of theologies and theories— what if 2012 is the last year we’re alive here on earth? What would you do with this year?

Some would scramble to fill life with all the pleasures and desires they could. And some may do that … The idea that “I had better get all the gusto I can because it’s down the hole after this” betrays a poorly lived life.

Life should be savored and as an old Jewish proverb says “God will punish you for the legitimate pleasures you refuse to enjoy.” However, it should be a lifestyle. Nothing should really change if you are truly living your life.

St. Francis of Assisi was questioned by a passerby while he was tilling his garden beside the road. The traveler asked St. Francis that if he knew this was the last day of his life what would he do? St. Francis replied “I would continue to till my garden.” Live your life with a richness and satisfaction that nothing will change you because its 2012 and someone said “this is it.”
