Basketball: Odessa High rolls to easy victory

MIDLAND The Odessa High boys basketball team took control in the first quarter and never looked back in an 86-56 victory Saturday afternoon at Midland Classical.
The Bronchos (1-1) had three players — Kody Tennison, Darrian Samuels and Frank Mijares — on the court just hours after Odessa High was eliminated by Arlington High in the Class 5A Division I area playoffs.
Joe Amoyaw led OHS with a game-high 22 points, with Dalen Brooks adding 20 and Jakari Allen 15 in the victory.
Patrick Leach and Tyler Stallings each scored 12 points for Midland Classical.
