Wanda ‘Sharp’ Carey

ODESSA Wanda "Sharp" Carey went to be with our Lord and Savior, May 11, 2008, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.

She was born February 19, 1925, to Iva William and Florence Belle Gentry in Eastland County, Texas.

Wanda married La Rue Sharp, October 1941, they had three children; Loretta, Larry and Don. She enjoyed different crafts, painting, embroidery, croqueting, and she loved working in the yard. She was a Baptist and loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, La Rue Sharp, December 12, 1966. She remarried James L. Carey and he died December 16, 1998.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Loretta Leslie and husband, Bob of Odessa; sons, Larry Sharp and wife, Kim of Watauga, Don Sharp and wife, Mary of The Colony; grandchildren, Malissa Roach and husband, Russell, David Leslie, Kimberly Robison and husband, Richard, Crystal Chapman, Fallon Sharp, Brian Sharp and wife, Cheryl, Tamera Jones and husband, Devin, Justin La Rue Sharp and Storme Sharp, Robert Greene and Rodney Greene; great-grandchildren, Kelli Olivera, Brandon Cowart, Brittany Ramzel, Shauna Roach, Becky Robison, Nathan Robison, Mason Jones, Olivia Jones, Jordan Greene, Riley Greene, Heather Sharp, Taylor Chapman, Gavin Chapman and Bradyden Eberts.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Fort Parker Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas.
