Big Serve Focuses on High Sky

Sewell Family of Companies

On Sunday, December 4, the Sewell Family of Companies provided approximately 300 volunteers to serve several much-needed projects at High Sky Children’s Ranch in Midland. Projects included landscaping, cleaning and repairing playground equipment, hanging Christmas lights on each house, expanding a backyard fence, repairing walls in several houses, insulating each attic, organizing donated clothing, creating workbooks, cleaning the horse barn, painting in several homes, and preparing a home for 10 high-risk children.

The Big Serve originated in December of 2009 when company president Collin Sewell decided to replace the traditional company Christmas party with a day of community service.

“The focus is not on us … the focus is on the community and how we can make it better,” said Sewell of the First Serve project.

The Sewell Family of Companies is a family business that has served Texas for more than 100 years. Sewell is committed to serving the communities where they reside and adding to the quality of life of its citizens.

An organization with more than 275 team members in West Texas, Sewell was recognized as the 2010 Most Philanthropic Business of the Year for Odessa and Midland.

Sewell was named the 2012 TIME Quality Dealer of the Year for Texas. The TIME Dealer of the Year program honors new-car dealers in America who exhibit exceptional performance in their dealerships and perform distinguished community service. Dealers are nominated by members of the Automotive Trade Association Executives.
