College basketball: Lady Falcons headed to San Antonio

The UTPB women’s basketball team will kick off its first tournament of the season at 5 p.m. today against Southeastern Oklahoma at the St. Mary’s Tournament in San Antonio.
UTPB (1-1) picked up its first win of the season by blasting Sul Ross 70-47 on Wednesday night. Miesha Blackshear and Lauren Unger each scored 12 points to pace the Lady Falcons, and Domonique Haywood added 10 points.
Tammy Acosta picked up nine points and seven assists.
The Lady Falcons will wrap up the tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday against Northeastern Oklahoma.
