GOOD NEWS: Jack Hendrix vocal competition winners

The Odessa Music Teachers Association had its annual Jack Hendrix recital competition Jan. 21-22.
More than 170 competed from Odessa, Midland, Big Spring, Hobbs, N.M. and Roswell, N.M.
Twenty teachers also participated in the competition.

Vocal Recital Winners
The recital took place at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 at First Baptist Church.

>> Christmas Song of the Shepherds, Schubert: Briana King, first place; Kennedi Cox, second place.

>> Good News, Chariot’s A-Comin, Patterson: Patrick Lucus, first place.

>> My Days Have Been So Won’drous Free, Hopkinson: Hannah Morgan, first place; Kara Williams, second place; Heather Hood, third place.

>> When Love Is Kind, Old English Air: Emily Thomas, first place; Bailey Becker, second place; Marissa Megalado, third place.

>> Watchman’s Song, Hefferman: Beau Roland, first place.

>> Come Unto Him, Handel: Allison Gray, first place; Brook Watters, second place.

>> Wher’er You Walk, Handel: Cameron Lollar, first place.

>> Heiden Roselein, Schubert: Sarah Kuhlmann, first place.

>> Widmung, Schumann: Benjamin Herndon, first place.

>> Il mio bel foco, Marcello: M’Kalee Morgan, first place; Sarah Thomas, second place.

>> Participating teachers: Ronald Bennett, Linda Lindell, Kathy Lollar and Barbara Shinn.

>> Judge: Rick Rainey.
