Grenades, Guitars, Guts and Glory

Monahans resident Ronold Ray and daughter Gina Ray have published a book titled “Grenades, Guitars, Guts and Glory” through Dog Ear Publishing.

Gina said the book details Ronold’s time fighting in World War II, starting with enlistment throughout the war. The book’s tagline says “there at 18 — told at 81.” His story includes some shocking stories as well as some others that just may be interesting anecdotes of a time of war.

Ronold moved to Monahans with his wife, Wanda, in 1951, owning several businesses and serving as justice of the peace until his retirement in 2002.
