West Texas Finance robbed

Police are investigating a robbery at a loan business that took place about noon Tuesday.

Odessa police Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said in an e-mail that police were called at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday to the West Texas Finance, 108 E. 31st St. She said investigators were told a man walked into the office, showed a handgun and demanded money. The man fled the office on foot toward the southwest with an undetermined amount of cash.

No one was injured in the robbery, Carruth said.

The robber was described as a Hispanic male in his mid- to late 30s, about 165 pounds with salt and pepper hair and a black mustache. He was wearing soiled blue jeans, brown boots, a black and blue hoodie sweater and a beige cap.

Staff at the West Texas Finance office said the manager was unavailable for comment.
