Tennis: Permian earns No. 25 ranking
Permian High School is ranked No. 25 in the latest Texas Tennis Coaches Association state rankings, which were released Tuesday.
Permian is one of three teams from District 2-5A and one of 11 from Region I-5A listed in the top 25.
San Angelo Central is the top 2-5A team at No. 10 while Lubbock Coronado is at No. 12.
Permian, which stands 1-1 in District 2-5A, returns to District 2-5A action at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday at Midland Lee. Permian beat Lubbock Monterey on Saturday after losing its league opener to San Angelo Central.
It is believed to be the first ranking for Permian in the TTCA Top 25 since 1998. That year, Permian qualified for the Region I-5A Team Tennis Tournament.
