The Lily Pad

Whether you're planning a wedding, looking for graduation gifts or just
want to browse, new owner John Herriage invites you to visit The Lily Pad at 2119 E. 42nd Street, behind Walgreen's.
The Lily Pad wants to be your go-to place for wedding plans. "We're located next to University Bridal and The Cake Box, and we want to be your one-stop shop for the big day," John says. "The Lily Pad is even associated with a catering service."
When it comes to decorating for events such as weddings, quinceañeras, and other celebrations, The Lily Pad can provide everything from boutonnieres and centerpieces to arches and door swags.   Olga Chavez is a longtime floral designer who stayed on with The Lily Pad following the change of ownership. She, or one of their other talented designers, is happy to come to a customer's home to design custom door swags and wreaths for the holidays.
Fresh flowers and blooming plants are shipped in daily from around the world. "We receive shipments of beautiful plants and flowers from places like Ecuador and Colombia - even tulips from Holland," says John.  "We deliver throughout the Midland and Odessa area, and with our wire-service, we can send plants and flowers anywhere in the world."
The Lily Pad encourages customers to choose from among their wide variety of gift items and design a basket unique to the receiver. For instance, for a more masculine gift, they may fill a basket with not only snacks like beef jerky, but also some of the humorously named hot sauces and steak seasonings carried in the shop. Or, for a pick-me-up gift, they may include jellybeans, lip balm and a Fairy Dust necklace. "If you don't know exactly what you want, describe it to us," John says. "We'll custom-design it for you."
The Lily Pad offers an array of home décor items including wall art, chandeliers and throw rugs.  Gift items range from the trendy, such as Soy Toi and Ballmania (one of Oprah's "Favorite Things"), to the inspirational, such as a full line of Eden's Angels.  A variety of purses and jewelry are also available, as are candles from Mudhouse Candle Company in Big Lake.
"Mother's Day is coming up on May 10," John reminds us. Remember The Lily Pad for all of your floral and gift needs.
