Billye Sue (Bender) Goode
ODESSA Billye Sue (Bender) Goode, age 85, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Midland, Texas.
Mrs. Goode was born in Eastland, Texas on June 1, 1926 to the late Earl and Willie (Arnold) Bender. She was a longtime resident of Odessa and taught in the public schools for over 30 years. She retired to Eastland, Texas on Lake Leon and lived happily there for 15 years. She was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Odessa. Sue was a loving person who was always thinking of others.
Family visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church Odessa, with Terry Tamplen officiating. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2011, in the Eastland Cemetery in Eastland, Texas.
She is survived by her two daughters and two sons-in-law, Julie and Jim Brown of Odessa and Annette and Don McGee of Cedar Hill, Texas; also her son, Charles Goode of Odessa. She was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren: Kelly Goode of Houston, Kristy Artz and husband Warren of Australia, Alisha Brown Hudman and husband Jeremy of Midland, Beth McGee of Plano, Amy Brown of Odessa, Chad McGee and wife Ashton of Dallas, Monica Goode of Odessa and Chandler Goode and wife Roni of Odessa and four great-grandchildren: Maverick Jon Artz, Shaelyn Goode, Krysta Olivas and Ivy Artz, and many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and considered them God’s greatest blessing. Her family was her world.
She is preceded in death by her son, John Earl Goode and wife Tanya of Phoenix, Arizona; her sister and brother-in-law, Annelle and Pat Miller of Eastland; brother-in-law, Fred Frnka of Eagle Lake, Texas and sister-in-law, Lois Glueck.
Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Diana and Larry Mitchell of Country Acres, where she was lovingly cared for the last 5 ½ years of her life and also to Home Hospice of Midland.
