Nino-Iker

WAIKIKI BEACH, HAWAII Raquel Ester Nino of Odessa and William Kenneth Scott Iker of Cincinnati were married May 9 at Waikiki Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii, with the Rev. Greg Christopherson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Manuela Contreras of Odessa. She is a 2001 graduate of Odessa High School, a 2004 graduate from Odessa College with an associate's degree in general studies, enlisted in the Army in 2005, completed basic military training in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., recently completed a 15-month tour in Camp Taji, Iraq, and attends Hawaii Pacific University. She is a sergeant and serves as an intelligence analyst for the Army in Scholfield Barracks, Hawaii, with the 185th Military Intelligence Co., Second Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 251D.

The groom is the son of Gary and Linda Iker of Fort Worth. He serves the U.S. Army, recently completed a 15-month tour in Camp Taji, where he served as the squadron NBC non-commissioned officer, attends Central Texas College in pursuit of an education degree and recently received orders to Fort Leonard Wood. He is a staff sergeant stationed at Schofield Barracks with the 2-14 CAV, Second Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 251D. His military occupation specialty is in nuclear, biological and chemical.
Honor attendants were: Manuela Contreras, Sidni Ramos, Zabdy Smith, Valerie Contreras, Karina Mendoza and Justin and Kellie-Lee Clark.

The couple lives in Fort Leonard Wood.
