Nurses Unlimited celebrated its ranking among the 2007 Homecare Elite at an open house January 24, 2008. Nurses Unlimited was named in the top 25% of home health agencies in the nation.
This ranking was established by OCS, Inc., the leading provider of healthcare informatics, and DecisionHealth, publisher of home care’s most respected independent newsletter Home Health Line. The following objectively measured criteria were used to determine the rankings:
1. Quality outcomes
2. Quality improvement
3. Financial performance
On behalf of U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway’s office, Jesse Lashbrook presented a Congressional Certificate honoring all employees of Nurses Unlimited for their “tireless work and ongoing dedication.”
Speaking for Mayor Larry Melton, city council member Michael Sanchez said, “Nurses Unlimited has been an invaluable presence to the community since 1983.”
The home health care agency, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this September, was founded by Patsy Gerron in 1983.
“In the 11 years I’ve been here, I’ve seen Nurses Unlimited more than double in size, while maintaining the quality patient care that the agency was founded on” said CEO Bobby Laughry. “I’ve always believed we were one of the better agencies if measured in an objective manner, and, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our employees, this award confirms our belief.”
“We’ve always believed in ourselves,” says Kitty Scrogum, RN, and COO of the Skilled Care Division. “Nurses Unlimited is an excellent agency, and our high standards help us to employ and retain high quality employees.”
The Nurses Unlimited team offers a wide range of services including: nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, dietitians, medical social services, and home health aides. Their specialty programs include an advanced wound care team and a disease management team for diabetes, cardiac and respiratory diseases.
