Victor J. Nabarrette Jr.
ODESSA Victor J. Nabarrette Jr., 50, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at his resi-dence after a short illness.
He was born on January 17, 1959 in Odessa, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Victor Nabarrette Sr.; mother, Catalina Juarez Nabarrette; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria Cortez Nabarrette; daughters, Jessica and Mayo Rios, Victoria Nabarrette; son, Victor Nabarrette III; six grandchildren, Angel Rios, Jesse Rios, Christopher Rios, Nathaniel Rios, Dillion Nabarrette and Andres Nabarrette; sisters, Socorro (Fernando) Ruiz, Celia (Miguel) Villagrana, Carmen (Jamie) Ramos Sr., Velma Nabarrette and Alice Nabarrette; brothers, Arturo (Minnie) Nabarrette Sr., Joe Luis (Veronica) Nabarrette; multiple nieces and nephews; and also, his extended family The Cortez’s.
He was a 1977 graduate from Ector High School, where he played football and baseball for the Ec-tor Eagles. He was employed by Sanbar balls and seats for several years. Victor enjoyed softball, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. His greatest enjoyment was watching all sports, The Spurs, New York Yankees and his all time favorite NFL team, The Dallas Cowboys.
Pallbearers are, Thomas Andrade, Robert Maravilla, Arturo Nabarrette Jr., Bruno Cortez III, Mi-guel Garza, Ricky Garza, Jaime Ramos Jr. and Pablo Nunez.
The Nabarrette Family would like to extend a special thank you to Sanbar balls and seats, H.E.B., University Medical Center in Lubbock, S & R Home Health Care and Home Hospice.
Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery (Los Angeles Garden). Services are by Odessa Funeral Home.
