Not much of a visit

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

After reading the front page of the Odessa American about President Bush's visit to Midland, I found it insulting to all of West Texas people.

After almost eight years in office, this was the first time President Bush has visited Midland. And his sole purpose of this visit was to raise money for the Republican Party at Mike Conaway's home.

Yes he lived in Midland/Odessa and, as stated in the Odessa American, he spent 15 minutes touring his childhood home in Midland.

Midland has gone above and beyond to recognize this man as a former resident, but, in my view, he has certainly turned his other cheek on all of us!  Crawford, Texas, is his home.

Heck even ex-President Clinton spent more time in Odessa. Why not Bush?
