Direct Appliance & Electronics
Buying locally is better, not only for the store, but also for the customers and the community. Direct Appliance & Electronics, in business since 1996, is proud to be one of the locally owned stores in this area.
“I’ve been telling my local and area customers not to make the Big Box Mistake,” said owner Ralph Rice. “Buying locally not only builds our community, it also strengthens our economic vitality.”
According to the American Independent Business Alliance, each dollar you spend at a local, independent business returns three times more money to the local economy than one spent at a chain.
“We go the extra mile to make sure our customers get the best deal,” Rice said. “If something should go wrong with your product, you know right where to find us so we can get your product fixed fast.”
Direct Appliance has the largest appliance warehouse in the Permian Basin, which allows customers to receive their products quickly. They offer free next-day drop-off service on all in-stock appliances. Appliances that need to be shipped usually arrive in three to five days on one of their twice-weekly trucks. If you can’t find the appliance you want in stock, they’ll give you a loaner until yours arrives, ensuring that you get exactly the refrigerator, range, washer or dryer you want.
Direct Appliance also has a special offer, made solely to their buying customers.
“We’ll give you the use of a free loaner while you’re waiting for an appliance repair or a new machine,” Rice said. “In addition, customers can schedule their appliances for repair and bring them in to us. That’s a special advantage to our out-of-town customers who can do some shopping and pick up the repaired item before the trip home.”
Direct Appliance & Electronics is family-owned and operated, and all of their employees are long term.
“When we say we’ll be there at a certain day and time, you can depend on us to be there at that time. Your products are delivered by company employees and technicians, not contract labor,” Rice said.
When you consider that within the surrounding area, including Odessa, Midland, Andrews, Monahans, Kermit and Wink, you’ll have your appliance installed by a technician the next day (except Sunday), there’s not a big difference in the bottom line compared to the big box stores.
“Independent businesses like Direct Appliance and Electronics help give our community its one-of-a kind personality,” Rice said. “You can get to know the people you do business with and find exactly what you need in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.”
“It just makes sense to shop locally,” he concluded.
Direct Appliance & Electronics has two Odessa locations at 4909 East 42nd Street, 432-550-2644, and 1616 East 7th Street, 432-272-2700.
