A landing gear problem on a Laughlin T-1 Jayhawk military airplane turned a routine landing into an emergency landing at Midland International Airport at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The two pilots on the training flight safely evacuated the aircraft, and no one on the ground was hurt, said Joel Langton, a spokesman for Laughlin Air Force Base.
Langston said four members have been sent to Midland International Airport to assist in the recovery of the plane. He said a board of officers is investigating the incident.
