Your garden could blossom with flowering plants and a variety of shrubs and trees - and sooner than you might think, according to John Blamey, owner of John's Corner.
 "Now is a good time to plant everything from grass to flowering plants to shrubs and trees," says John. "It's also a good time to treat your lawn with fertilizer and apply your second pre-emergent to take care of the weeds."
 May, when heat begins to rise from the earth, is an ideal time to get your lawns started with Bermuda grass seed.    "Our seeds are pure seeds with no coating, which means if you keep the grass moist, it will start to grow faster," John says.
 John's Corner carries a good selection of vegetable seeds and bedding plants. He even carries the Topsy Turvy gardening kit, as seen on TV.
 To add flavor to your vegetables, John has plenty of herbs including rosemary, time, basil, mint and stevia.
 Add a splash of color to your yard and garden with bright annuals and perennials. John lists bachelor buttons, moss roses, day lilies, lantana, and whirling butterflies as well as 40 varieties of geraniums among the available flowers.
 John's Corner recently received a new shipment of shade trees including ash, willow, live oaks, red oaks, Mexican live oaks and fruitless mulberries.

 "A lot of people are asking for the lady bugs," John says. "We also have praying mantises for insect control and compost earthworms."

 Now in his third year at John's Corner, John has spent 41 years in the retail gardening business.
 "I like helping people solve their gardening problems," he says. "I've noticed that gardeners are more laid back than most people. They're aware of their connection with the earth."
