Cody Boone Tippy

HOBBS, N.M. Funeral services for Cody Boone Tippy, age 34, of Hobbs, were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012, at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. John Boone, Rev. Wilbur Boone and Rev. Bobby Hart officiating. Interment was held after services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation was held 1 – 6 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at Chapel of Hope which was in charge of arrangements. The family was in attendance from 4 – 6 p.m.

Cody died January 10, 2012, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born February 23, 1977, in Brownwood, TX, to Jim and Susan Tippy. Cody married Wendy Boone July 19, 1996, in Bull Holler at Ranger, Texas. He was a member of Life Temple United Pentecostal Church.

Cody was a 1995 graduate of Hobbs High School. He loved his family and his church family dearly. Since September 2007, he was owner/vice-president of Milford Pipe and Supply. Cody loved his work and his work family. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, motorcycling and skydiving. Family, friends and customers far and near will truly miss Cody.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy of Hobbs; daughters, Kenzi Marilyn and Kodi Rayne Tippy of Hobbs; a son, Kanyon Beau of Hobbs; parents, Jim and Susan Tippy of Hobbs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharilyn and Shane Brixner of Farmington, NM and Gayla and Gary Campos of Lubbock, TX; four nieces and four nephews; grandparents, Wilbur and Sarah Boone of Hobbs; father-in-law, Leonard Brooks and wife Sue of China Springs, TX; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Leverington and husband Mike of Odessa, TX; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, L. B. and Nell Tippy.
