DENTON Charles Taylor rushed for 227 yards and two touchdowns, and also passed for a score, to lead Mansfield Timberview to a 32-6 win against Abilene High in a Class 5A Division II state quarterfinal Saturday at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex.
Josh Smith added 113 rushing yards for the Wolves (12-2), who held Abilene High (10-4) to 90 total yards and a third-quarter touchdown pass from Blayze Walker to Keevan Lucas. The Eagles’ starting quarterback, Evin Abbe, was 3-of-19 passing for 29 yards.
