“Lorenzo’s gemstone collection is mostly of sterling with accents of 18-karat gold,” said store manager Franki Blackwell. “Customers will see gemstone rings, pendants, earrings and bracelets with a wide variety of price points.”

In addition to Lorenzo and other fine jewelry makers, Cone Jewelers offers Pandora beads to personalize bracelets and earrings. “Pandora beads are very popular right now,” Blackwell said “The beads screw on and are very durable with a variety of prices that makes them affordable to everybody. The bracelets and earrings you make are unique to you. We take pride in being the only authorized Pandora dealer in Odessa.”

When we think of the jewel of love, diamonds very often come to mind. Cone offers all–natural diamonds in many different colors including chocolate, blue and black. Roses are a traditional Valentine’s Day gift, and Cone Jewelers is offering a special on dipped gold-plated or lacquered roses along with a pearl bracelet or earrings plus a box of candy “These are real roses that have been dipped,” Blackwell said. “The detail is wonderful — you can see the veining on them. Even the upper thorns have been left on.”

A jeweler for 42 years, owner Bill Heiser began his career as a high school coach, served in the military, then returned to join his father-in-law in the jewelry business He learned his craft by taking courses from the Gemological Institute of America. Heiser owned jewelry stores in Kermit and Carlsbad, N.M., before opening an Odessa store in 2000. Cone Jewelers moved to its current location in 2008. Heiser’s son Byron continues the family tradition by running a shop in Carlsbad that opened in 1992. 

“Remember, all of our repairs, including watch repairs and ring sizing, are done on site,” Heiser said.
