GOOD NEWS: Odessa Jacklopes visit Booth Head Start Center
The Odessa Jackalopes players and team mascot Slap Jack visited Booth Head Start Center on Jan. 26 and spoke to youngsters about the importance of nutrition and maintaining an active lifestyle through sports. Jackalopes’ goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, along with his teammate and older brother Chris Hellebuyck and Jacks’ defensemen Tyler Minx and Bryan Mitchell, spent time with more than 100 three- and four-year-olds and discussed how sports have affected their lives and made them the people they are today. The Odessa players also touched on how eating healthy foods and exercising regularly makes everyday life more fun. Following the presentation, each student received a souvenir pencil from the Jacks and got a chance to fool around with Slap Jack and the players on the playground.
