(NR) UTPB to offer resume-polishing seminar
The Office of Career Services has been preparing students, alumni, and the general public all year to find employment. Before the holidays, there were seminars on entrepreneurship, using social networking to secure jobs, and dressing for success. Since the spring semester began, Director Tony Love has presented a program on acing the interview and conventional networking methods, among others.
On Thursday, March 24, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., he will be helping students, alumni, and the general public fine tune their resumés using quantitative statements and action verbs. Education majors will find particularly helpful information; and he will discuss cover letters and follow-up thank-you correspondence.
This seminar includes a free lunch in the Mesa Building’s first floor Mac Boring Room. It will provide last-minute assistance for everyone planning to attend the UTPB Spring Job Fair the following Thursday, March 31, from noon-4 p.m. in the gym. This event, free and open to the public, will be the culmination of the pre-employment process and attendees are encouraged to dress for success and bring plenty of resumés.
