City of Odessa budgeted funds to replace fountain at Memorial Gardens.

The city of Odessa has budgeted $100,000 to replace the fountain at Memorial Gardens. The fountain has been inactive for the past two years.

What does this mean? Ducks fly (duh!), and they would find their way back to the pond if only driven a few miles awy. Are they killed? I think that would be very sad.
This is our desert oasis. It is what brings wildlife to our area! I have seen, in the last 5 years, the Buffalo Wallow become populated with Black-crowned Night-herons, Northern Shovlers, Wood Ducks a-plenty, and the occasional Pellican!
Do the ducks really cause the smell? I don't know, but it's worth it to me. The fountain is nice, but it sure is a pretty penny to pay. Is the watrerfall running? It wasn't the last time I was there.."
