Ground broken on wind farm

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Construction is moving along on the latest wind farm in the Permian Basin.

The Sherbino Wind Farm LLC broke ground last week. The facility is located off Interstate 10 in Pecos County, between Fort Stockton and Iraan.

The 150 megawatt project is part of a joint venture between BP Alternative Energy and NRG Energy.

The 50-turbine project was one of five announced by BP in 2007 in four states.

According to its website, BP has interests in more than 100 countries. Its 96,000 employees help make it one of the world’s largest energy companies.
