Former Executive Editor

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

THE STORY: Our former executive editor John Kerr's blogging on our website. In one of his recent blogs, he makes a list of must-see movies for him, including "As Good as it Gets," "Bridge on the River Kwai" and "Die Hard."

YOUR COMMENTS:
>> "I find myself choosing to re-watch almost any decent movie when faced with that or watching "regular" television. A few I actually put in the DVD player and watch repeatedly...
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Jack Forever)
"To Kill a Mockingbird (The kids are fantastic)
"LOTR (Made with serious respect for the written work. PLEEEEZE do the Hobbit the same justice)
"300 (Sorry, the eye candy in that is too much to resist)
"No Country for Old Men (I find myself watching this one on occasion)"
>> "What about "The Wizard of OZ", "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"? I tend to run screaming from "chick flicks", but "Children of a Lesser God" is a good view. Most new movies are total rubbish as the newer crop of writers seem to be missing a creativity gene in their DNA. I like WWII-Era cartoons (better animation) AND some of the ORIGINAL Disney Movie/Full-length cartoons - still a nice escape from the violence/drama in today's world."
>> "Wow, John, I would have never guessed you were a "Pulp Fiction" fan. It would make my list, as would "Fargo," "Jaws," "Rocky" and "Moonstruck." My I would watch anytime-anywhere top 10 also would include "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," "The African Queen," "All the President's Men," "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" (the original, of course) and "The Breakfast Club."
>> "One word: Braveheart."
>> "How could you have left off that classic 1980s hit "Porky's"?????"
