Trustees to consider candidates Thursday

The Ector County Independent School District's board of trustees plans to meet Thursday to consider approving a new Ector Junior High principal.

Trustees are scheduled to meet at noon Thursday in the ECISD boardroom, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.

Steve Brown, ECISD assistant superintendent for secondary operations, said he wouldn't release the name of the Ector Junior High recommendation until the board approves the individual.

In addition to considering an Ector principal, trustees are slated to consider approving a memorandum of understanding between ECISD and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin regarding the establishment of a reading institute for district teachers.

Trustees also plan to consider approving out-of-state travel for the Permian High Panther Paws dance team.
